ADMIT IT DAMMIT! | Fetch My Flying Monkeys
Most salads suck big sweaty balls unless they’re the kind that are loaded with shit that’s bad for you. Don’t argue. You know I’m right. Now here’s one of the best of the worst- Ramen Noodle Salad.
Use broccoli slaw, canola oil, white wine vinegar, and Oriental Flavored Ramen Noodles. These ingredients make the best salad. Add the flavor package to the dressing and add a few drops of sesame oil.
Seriously, this salad rocks. It’s the kind of salad you’ll want to carry to a potluck, but remember, if you take it to a work potluck add ground glass. Wait, that’s only at my work. Nevermind.
Now here’s a picture of a baby otter for the people that showed concern for my sore thumb:
Two thoughts:
* Major sodium hit
* Looks like the little fellers hair is growing in
Love,
Sonsabitche
*** Uh yeah, I said it wasn’t good for you. ~Laura
I actually like salads. Unfortunately most bottled salad dressings aren’t very good for you. It’s cheap oil they use – soybean and / or canola. Plus usually waaay too much salt. I just make my own with a mixture of sunflower and olive oils. Both are much healthier and the mixture keeps the olive oil from solidifying in the refrigerator.
*** I actually don’t have many salads because the lettuce and fixxings usually end up getting thrown away after they get all wilty. Waste of money. ~Laura
Are you still in college? My daughter lived on Ramen noodles then, but I don’t think she made such a pretty salad. Maybe you should use it as a plaster for your rabid thumb. Just sayin’. LOVE the baby otter, but the little Aye-Aye is kinda cute, too. Of course, it might just bite off your thumb. I do hope that appendage is better now.
*** It is better thank you, and no I am not in college, but I used to live on Ramen noodles there, so I don’t have them often anymore. They are excellent in this salad though. ~Laura
I zoomed in on the picture of the ingredients and it appears that the broccoli slaw is produced by a company by the name of “Cat Smart”. Is it just the way the bag is posed or is there a company that sells salad and vegetable products to people who like to eat cats? (I’m sure there’s a rather sizable “niche market” in certain ethnic enclaves, should one want to delve into selling Kajun Kitty Fritters™ or the like.)
I’m a sunavabitch, but how’s your thumb doing these days?
*** It is better thank you. And the bag actually says “Eat Smart” though cats are pretty smart I don’t know if we would gain any intelligence from eating them but I only have Chinese food once a week or so, so I really don’t know but I heard they are good in math. Wait…what? ~Laura
Aye, he’s a cutie
Will send the recipe to my daughters who prepare food for others. I live on fruit, cottage cheese, and peanut butter sandwiches – with banana when I’m feeling all cookish.
*** You need to try this salad. ~Laura
The cats or the Chinese? Both are really good at multiplying, if left to their own devices.
Damn. All of this talk about Chinese and cats makes me want to make some stir fry for dinner and then eat some p***y for dessert. Let’s hope the Missus is in the mood for both.
**** LAWDY! ~Laura
I am way sorry to be coming to this pity party so behind hand- Saturday was “family day” ergo no blogging. Any way, I’d send my pity, but then I’d just seem like I was doing it to get on the band wagon. Don’t feel bad though, I almost went blind and no one bothered to check up on me. It’s just the way of the world.
PS the spud thinks your photos are cute. Then again, yesterday at the family day movie about dinosaurs, her favorite part was when the T-Rex bit the Long Neck. I figure she’s a girl after your own heart….
*** You should encourage her love of the T-Rex. ~Laura
It is true. I do like your recipes. Thanks for the photos.
How is your rabid thumb? Did you try the ice/heat?
*** It is better thank you.. It doesn’t hurt all the time so I haven’t really tried anything on it except complaining. ~Laura
Got it: ixnay on the oundgray assglay.
Although I can think of a few workplaces where a salad of this quality should be adulterated by the addition of, um, big sweaty balls.
*** HAHAHA! ~Laura
Ah ha ha, I don’t think I gave you thumb sympathy this time. That’s OK, someone has to love the ugly possum looking thing.
And I want to express my most sincerely thoughts and concerns on your thumb pain. Perhaps you should hit the space bar with your good thumb.
*** I do! I’m almost on disability. ~Laura
I love that salad……it is one of my favorites. I have decided never to eat at office potlucks anymore. Too many disgruntled employees. do not trust!!!!! and besides I don’t like eating anything out of someones kitchen that does not look like they bath everyday…
ewwwwww! I’ll order out!
*** How long have I sang that same song? ~Laura
Why do you bother posting pictures of those critters if you’re not gonna also include cooking times? Seriously, it’s just not helpful. Run and admit THAT, homegirl.
*** Ha! ~Laura
You ate one salad all weekend? Damn you must be skinny.
*** No, it’s all I made that required a recipe. There’s no recipe for cooking bacon and eating Circus Peanuts. ~Laura
My god, but you are demanding! Just kidding…pain does that to a person, and I do sympathize. I hope your thumb is improving. I hear that rabies is incurable, so I do worry about you!
Apparently, rabies also makes you forgetful, because I *have* admitted that your recipes are awesome. That Cincinnati Chili a while back looked amazing…haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but winter is a’comin’, so I’ll try it then.
*** You must try the chili. It’s very good. Oh, and my thumb is better thank you. ~Laura
Please forgive me, I have been remiss in offering my well wishes for your debilitating and painful thumb ailments and do not deserve ottery goodness. Instead I rate the judgmental otter look of…judgment.
Hope your thumb is feeling better.
**** You are forgiven. For now. ~Laura
I will take that salad to the next potluck lunch at work and it may or may not have ground glass added. I’m not saying. I love how your dinosaurs are always in your food.
*** They are all about food. ~Laura
I love ramen noodle salad. Down here they call it Chinese coleslaw. Once in a while I make what I call Whitetrash Spaghetti… ramen noodles with ketchup and sprinkle cheese.
And they say I’m uncultured. Pffft.
*** HA! Whitetrash Spaghetti sounds classy, girl. ~Laura
All of your recipes are great looking. And the fact that there are dinos in the documentation only makes them more awesome. Plus, cuteness. What more can a reader ask for? You gots it all, gurl.
*** Oh, you get more otter pics for that. ~Laura
I have filed this one away for future use. I do hope your thumb is doing better, and thanks for both pics. I told you I made the ‘chops, but didn’t tell you the aftermath.
I took some to my BIL’s house up the street. The following day he calls and asks me for the recipe. I told him it was a family secret. He said he IS family. I told him not THAT close a family member. He said he was just down the street, so he was close. I said maybe if he buys me booze. He said it was a deal.
What can I say? It was an opportunity for free booze.
*** He may be mad when you tell him how easy they are to make, so take your booze first. ~ Laura
OMG!!! That baby otter is sooooooo cute. I want one. I have been hounded by spousal equivalent to make some more salad.
*** You should make more. It’s yummy. ~Laura
Your salad looks way tasty. The only thing I ever bring to work to share is Onion Pie. The guys here love it. Otherwise, I let them do their own cooking.
Glad your thumb is feeling better. A Vodka and Tonic wouldn’t hurt, though.
*** I must know more about this “Onion Pie.” My thumb feels better thanks! ~ Laura
That’s actually a very grumpy looking baby otter. “My butt is dangling in the air! Support my butt!” The other thing looks like something I’d find under the fridge during spring cleaning. The type of thing I have thoughts about training and sending forth to do my evil. (spring cleaning being the only time I clean under the fridge)
*** HA! It would make a perfect member of a minion. ~Laura
You know what? I think people have a right to know HOW you hurt your thumb. My current theory is that it’s not thumb rabies at all. No, instead the injury is the result of an accident while auditioning for this video… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iANRO3I30nM
NO MORE LIES!
ps: That slivered otter salad needs some bacon. Oh, yes it does.
*** HA! How did you know?? And everything tastes better with bacon but NO OTTER!! Damn. ~Laura
Maybe some Smoked Otter Pastrami?
On Rye?
But none of those damned seeds; the freaking things get stuck between my teeth like nobody’s business, and then I have to grab one of Cha-Ka’s relatives to floss with.
*** Jesus H. Christ. Stop with the eating of the otters already. ~Laura
Did I smell otter on the menu?
Beats the sea lion out of Sea World trainers; I hate that “squeeky” sound their wetsuits make when you first bite down. It’s like eating cheesecurds.
*** Eat all the trainers ya want. Leave the animals alone, especially the otters. ~Laura
You need to add some Totino’s pizza roles and some Natural Light to that and you could definetly market that salad to college guys.
*** Ha! I bet I could! ~Laura
I freaking love that salad. I would eat it everyday, well.. either that.. or salmon.. or sushi.. or chinese food. But it is one of my favorites! It ranks up there with the frito/catalina dressing salad. YUMMY!
That otter is tooo freaking cute!
Does your thumb feel any better? I have been praying for it (you).
*** Yes, it is better lately, thank you. Next time I make that salad I am going to add grilled chicken and call it a meal. ~Laura
Just in case this turns into another ‘thumb incident’, I love your recipes, and this one looks like a doozie. My tastebuds are tingling with anticipation as I type.
Jen.
PS. Hope the thumb continues to get better. Damned digit, anyway.
*** Ha! YEAH! Damn digit!! I’m glad you like the recipes and thank you for your concern of my thumb, it’s doing better. ~Laura

Ach! You dare make fun of the aye-aye? The primate so ugly, it’s cute?
Scoundrel!
*** They are kinda cute and I am a scoundrel. ~Laura
Ok, ok, ok… I admit it. Sheesh! (Adorable baby otter pic; thanks!)
*** You are welcome. ~Laura
That salad looks good when even a carnivore will eat it.
*** Exactly, that’s what I’m sayin’. ~Laura

Aye, Laura. It’s an Aye-Aye.
Wonder if they say, “Arrrgh.”
*** They look like they should. ~Laura
Damn those Panda ads are funny….
*** I thought they were a hoot. ~Laura

I love that salad! I make it for family reunion potlucks.
*** Without ground glass I assume since it sounds like you have more than one. ~Laura
That baby otter looks soooo soft!!
*** I know. I would hug it and kiss the top of it’s head. I’m sure I’d get bit, but what the hell. ~Laura
