My week in photos
Last week I spotted this creature hanging on for dear life on the outside of the building at work.

Yeah, a bat. I thought about letting it bite me so I could get super powers or something. But I figured that it would just give me rabies. Then I thought, rabies would get me out of work for a while. But then I remembered the movie “Old Yeller” and I didn’t want to be taken out to the barn and shot in the head by some kid in overalls, so I just took a pic and left.
These are signs at a church I pass by every day. They help me remember why I don’t go to church. You know, besides that whole catching on fire and writhing in pain thingy that happens when I cross the doorstep.

I don’t know why I photoshopped out the pastor’s name. I mean, it is a public billboard sign for all to see on the road. I guess it’s because my team of lawyers are all busy working on lifting that restraining order and I figured they didn’t need more work. (Soon, George. Soon.)
We went to The South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston this weekend. I had high hopes of taking a lot of fantastic photos. Let’s just say if I worked for National Geographic they not only would have fired me, but it’s highly likely they would have punched me in the throat for wasting their time. I’m just going to blame the 120 degree heat I had to endure walking there and all the nasty ass paw and nose prints from all the rug rats smeared on the glass. Yeah, that’s it. Oh, here’s a sea turtle.

Here’s Charleston Harbor where I took pics of the boats and ships that passed by.

When I got home this flyer was in my door.

Now here’s a church I may have to check out. I’m thinking they may have some zombie survival classes. I can get behind that. Amen.

It was not 120 degrees. If it had been, I would have taken some pillsbury cookie dough and left it in the car so we could snack on the way home.
Leave it to you to get that close to a bat!
It does get mighty hot in Charleston. You’ll need to go back to the Aquarium for more pics! Tell J I said so! LOL!
I think I’ve seen that church, they are always putting up those kind of signs. Uggh.
Charleston is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there. By the time the hot humid summer is over, you’re packing up escaping hurricanes. It’s nice that we live this close to it though. It beats Myrtle Beach.
A bat? In the daytime? Guess he got a little off schedule?!
I was in Charleston in July last year. We also went to the SC Aquarium. Loved it! But not the heat.
Laura,
I saw the attached link, and I thought of our next chapter in the Zombie Chronicles.

Who needs zombies when we can have robots that can kill us, then eat us?
And girl, stay away from the JW’s. You have never seen glaze until you loook into some of their eyes…
I always liked bats. I put bat houses up around my shed. They keep down mosquitos. But you’re right. They will give you rabies and you’ll end up dead with a bullet in your brain in the barn. lol
As they say around here- that church is whacked. It does turn thinking human beings off of church for sure.
Nice pictures btw.
J- Hush. It was so 120 degrees.
Jennifer- I will tell J, or he can read it. lol
Mark- Myrtle Beach sucks.
Becky- I’m kinda thinkin’ he was sick maybe.
Erik- Good Lawd man! Just what we need, something else to worry about fending off! Maybe we could just spray those with water though and wait for them to rust.
Joe- Thanks. I always thought bats were kind of cute, except for that whole rabies thing.
Okay, I have a list, because I am lazy.
J – She says that to me all the time. It’s hot! It must be 125 degrees here. Girl doesn’t know heat until she spends a summer in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. I am bringing her here next year just for that.
Jen – Dear, she is batty of course she is attracted to them.
Mark – if Myrtle Beach sucks, wouldn’t that be an attraction they should sell in the tourist brochure?
Becky – The rule of thumb is see a bat during the day, run away. See a bat at night…ummm get a fright? I just made that shit up. I do that sometimes.
Erik – loved the Robot Zombies. I want some. They would fit so well in my world domination plan
Joe – I like bats too.
Laura – Nice pics of course.
What happened to the thought that “Jesus loves EVERYONE?” I, personally, would stay clear of that church.
That’s so damn cool those signs got rearranged. Life affirming in an ironic way
The bat’s a bit damn scary. So’s the sound of that heat. But…Charleston, wow. As in Gone with the Wind Charleston? No way!
Pat-
I know, right? I don’t think they look down at their “What would Jesus do?” bracelets and grasp the concept.
Alison-
Yes, as in ‘Gone with the Wind’ Charleston. I shall get some downtown photos for you next time I go and some of the plantations that are around there. Charleston isn’t that far from me.
I loved seeing the signs rearranged. I felt like there was someone else like me out there somewhere. Yeah, scary thought. lol
