I don’t have time for this shit, there’s a movie to watch. | Fetch My Flying Monkeys
Everyone needs a fleet of flying monkeys to rip the stuffing out of the annoying people in their lives
— Laura

Alright, the movie The Cabin in the Woods just released and I’m uploading it now to watch it, so I’m going to make this brief. I’ve been told I should do more movie reviews, at least I think someone told me that. I might have just imagined it when I was thinking about what I could do to be more irritating.  Either way, my favorite genre is Horror, though I’ll watch any good movie, and one day soon I will list some of my favorites because I know y’all really want to know. Also, I need more movie suggestions from you all just in case I missed some good ones. Remember though, I’ve seen every one of the obvious ones, and most of the not so obvious ones. Anyway, I’m in an irritated mood because I had to go back to work after a three day reprieve (ugh), so here’s a picture of my hand-model hand hand-modeling for the Cheez-It contest:

I don't know why the fuck my hand looks shiny and all weird and shit. Maybe it was nerves. I'll never get a hand modeling job looking like that. Maybe I need to go to hand-modeling school. I don't know. I'm not a hand-model scientist. Yet.

P.S. I watched The Cabin in the Woods and it was great. Completely different and original and I loved the ending. I give it two fucked up looking hand model thumbs up.

  1. MSgt B says:

Zombie flicks. You can never watch too many zombie flicks.

  2. Cheeze says:

Heh heh, heh. You said, “Cheez.” Heh heh.

It’s the next best thing to actually being famous.

  3. Sophia says:

I watched that Human Centipede movie you recommended. I’m still in therapy.

  4. Jena says:

I don’t think Cheezit will find it humorous to have plastic people cringing from their product. I think its funny as hell. But they might not… just saying..

  5. Augusta says:

Not into Horror… Movies anyway…HA! I love suspense but not gore…I run like a little girl…

  6. Yabu says:

I’ll send you a short list of some movies I would like your “review /opinion” on. Do you ever watch (for example) Agatha Christie stuff? I loves me a good mystery.

    • Laura says:

I’m more about spooky Horror than Mystery. BUT I will watch any well-made, interesting movie. Another fave is documentaries. The last one I watched was Elephant in the Living Room. Fantastic and sad. About people keeping exotic animals as pets.

  7. Roxie says:

It’s an old-ish movie, but “Idle Hands” is a good one, because it’s funny, too! :)

  8. Mitchell says:

Cabin in the Woods was great, there was no way of figuring out where it was going. Another good and under-rated horror flick is The Descent.

    • Laura says:

I LOVED the Descent too. Descent 2 was good too once you got over the fact that the same survivor would go back in.

The Cabin in the Woods was great. I bought it.

      • Mitchell says:

There’s a book with the same title, about the same subject matter by Jeff Long. In fact, the movie could have been a re-work of one of the opening chapters. There’s a hell of a lot more going on in those caves! Great book and a real page turner. And ooo! I just discovered he wrote a sequel: “Deeper”!

  9. Alison says:

No horror movies for me; I don’t like being scared. Giant shiny thumbs threatening people with enormous Cheezits is about as much as I can take.

  10. Cheryl Lundgren says:

We just saw Expendables II – that was horr-ible. Does that count?

  11. Mark12A says:

I had a movie concept in which the world was taken over by sentient circus peanuts, but you saved us all be eating the leader. Maybe we should do lunch. I’ll have my people call your people.

  12. Jena says:

That was actually pretty good! (the movie)

  13. Art says:

two suggestions if ya havent seen ‘em already…
    1. Slither
    2. Teeth

    #1 … instant classic.
    #2 … i, umm, no. can’t. go. there.

    • Laura says:

      1. Favorite part in Slither- when the sheriff’s dispatcher called to say his momma called bitching about him stopping up the toilet taking a dump in the morning when he was acting all cool and shit in front of his love interest.

      2. Vagina with teeth. Every part made me laugh thinking of the guys watching it with their legs crossed.

  14. Nicole says:

We just watched that last night, too! Great movie. I hope Whedon gets more projects produced now that he’s had something with wider appeal than Firefly (which was stellar, just not commercially awesome, I think).

Maybe you should powder your hand next time? Don’t they always powder people before they go on camera?

  15. sablegsd says:

I read somewhere that the companies looking for hand models want the focus on the product. I think colored nail polish is verboten. Something to think about.

  16. Pug Mahon says:

I’m extremely picky about horror. Sometimes it’s so awful that I laugh (Rob Zombie…looking at YOU, bro). But sometimes, it gets me. Like The Ring. Great flick. And The Walking Fucking Dead. Shit you not, I’ve had more than a few bad dreams that featured Walkers invading family outings and whatnot. And yet, I look forward to that horrible show. Not right in the head.

  17. James says:

This movie will mess with your head… dont read too much about the plot cause there is a twist ending which is great.

The Killing Room Starring: Timothy Hutton

A 2009 psychological thriller film directed by Jonathan Liebesman

  18. karen says:

Did you ever watch these movies? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/After_Dark_Horrorfest#HorrorFest_2006 I am not sure where to get them now as I would rent them from Blockbuster.

As a fellow horror movie lover.. I recommend Borderland (from 2007). It scared the bejesus outta me. (Of course- growing up in DFW, lots of kids would go to Mexico for Spring Break. So I remember being bombarded with ALL the info of this happening during my junior year.)

Oh.. and NOT horror, but AWESOME movie.. Hard Candy (2005)

I sooo want to see The Possession, but want to read a few reviews first.

    • Laura says:

I have seen those! And yes, Hard Candy was excellent.

I dont like going to the theater much anymore, so I wait fit DVD releases. I have my eye already on The Possession- I hope it’s not like that stinking pile of poo about possession- so awful I can’t remember the name of it and I don’t wanna google on my phone! Ha!

      • karen says:

I read a few reviews of the movie, not good at all. I did see the Paranormal Witness show yesterday about the box and the original story was awesome. Looks like Hollywood sissyfied the story.

The Emily Rose movie or whatever? That was crap.

        • Laura says:

Okay, I’m home- I looked it up and it was “The Devil Inside” PURE CACA DOODOO.

I appreciate foreign horror a lot because they don’t sugar coat shit like Hollywood does.

  19. cricket says:

Do you mind sub titles? “Dead Snow” was actually pretty good. Medical students go skiing. I think they were Norwegian. Isolated cabin and disappearing people with a curse and zombies.

  20. Hubby I once went to see a horror play in Toronto. It was kind of a spoof – or more, an exaggeration of a cult classic. Night of the Living Dead, I think it was. AWESOME.
