Last weekend I watched one of the best movies I have seen all year. It’s called “The Lives of Others”. It’s a German film set in 1980 East Berlin. It’s about a successful playwright and his actress companion becoming subjects of the Stasi’s secret surveillance program. But it’s mostly about the man watching them and his life changing forever because of it. I’m telling you, watch this film. It is excellent. It is subtitled, but it is well worth any eye strain.
